Free QR code generator
Turn any link or text into a downloadable QR code — free, no sign-up, no watermark. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is ever uploaded.
Generated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded — the image never leaves your device.
A QR code is only as good as where it points.
Stickers, menus, flyers, business cards — they all send people to a website. NorthLuma builds you a clean, modern one in seconds. Preview it free, then download the source and own it — $49 once, no subscription, no lock-in.
Build my free website Tips for QR codes that actually get scanned
- Print it big enough. A rough rule of thumb: at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide for a code scanned from arm's length, and bigger for posters seen from across a room.
- Keep the quiet zone. Leave clear white space around the code — scanners need that border to find it. Don't crop it tight.
- Use a short URL. Less data means a simpler, lower-density code that scans faster and survives poor printing.
- Pick high error-correction if you'll add a logo. The “High” level lets a code still scan with part of it covered.
- Test before you print. Scan it with two or three different phones at the real size you'll use.
- Always test the destination. A perfect code pointing at a broken link is worse than no code at all.
This generator is free and unlimited. The QR encoding happens locally in your browser using the standard QR Code algorithm — there's no server, no cost, and no expiry. The PNG you download is yours forever.
